Session Description:
This session will bring together attendees of the World Innovation Forum and practitioners from education sector together with community leaders. Participants will have an opportunity to learn about innovation in the education sector with specific country examples, how to design and practice innovative learning design for students engagement and hear about the future we desire. The following focus areas have been selected as the Science, Technology and Innovation trigger points for the Education sector:
1. Future School
2. E-Portfolio and Web 2.0 tools – student engagement via management and monitor their own learning.
3. Meaningful Learning & Training – providing, creating and sharing resources and reusable digital objects
4. Buffet on the Cloud – The future we desire
The rationale of the selection was based on the following:
· Rapid development in web technology have created collaboration that leads to information sharing which subsequently turned into a vast pool of user generated content
· Shared digital contents are reusable for personalization of education to make learning more meaningful
· Personalized learning is the way forward for democratization of education for diverse learners
· A number of meaningful learning attributes such as collaborative, active, authentic, constructive and intentional can easily be achieved using the problem-oriented project-based hybrid e-learning strategy with various web 2.0 tools and beyond.
